Aimee screens for COVID-19

There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that outbreak of COVID-19 has disrupted lives and businesses all around the world. As a technology company, we all have to think what can we do to help.

It did not take too long for us to realise that we can use the underlying technology that we built Aimee on, to help deal with the outbreak.

We thought of helping practices build a first line of contact to their visitors, without needing to personally attend them.

The danger of Touch

Firstly, you don’t want to personally meet the potentially infected visitors. Moreover, as Corona virus can transmit through touching infected surfaces, no touch based device can be safe. If an infected person uses a touch screen of an iPad or any similar device, there is a chance that the next person could be infected through the now `dirty` screen!

The Power of Conversational Voice

That is where Aimee’s ability to carry on a full conversation with a visitor comes to help. It took us less than a day to put together a working product. The video explains it all. Aimee decides who is high risk and who isn’t. Then she advises both the visitor and the health risk workers, when risk visitors will be attended by health service staff, while low risk patients will be given advice on what to do next. All based on guidelines of health organisations that can change from day to day, or even hour to hour….
